The Joint Research Centre is pleased to announce that the 7^th European Commission GI & GIS Workshop, Managing the Mosaic, will take place in Potsdam, Germany, 13^th-15^th June 2001.

Since 1995 the European Commission has been organising workshops to provide a forum for a review of GI and GIS projects sponsored by the European Commission, to establish and maintain contacts, and to enable consultation and cross fertilisation of ideas between the developers and participants.

The workshop provides a unique opportunity for researchers, developers and users to come together to demonstrate and share new developments, exploit synergies, discuss common problems and provide input to the 5FWP. In addition to European Commission sponsored projects, the workshop will include contributions from other GI and GIS initiatives and projects.
