INSPIRE State of Play Reports
Last updated 25-Sep-2007
Spatial Data Infrastructures in Europe : State of play 2002 - 2005

2002 - 2003
Between September and December 2002 an initial survey of web sites and literature on NSDIs was conducted for 32 (mainly) European countries (15 Member states, 10 Accession countries, 3 Candidate Countries, 3 EFTA countries and 3 non-European countries). By june 2003, for 29 countries, this information was completed and corrected with the help of national GI- and SDI-experts. The 32 detailed final 2003 country reports are available in the 2003 State of the Play archive.

2004
In 2004 an update of this survey was performed, based on feedback from the stakeholders, a new scanning of the initial internet sources and recent workshops and presentations. An overview table on 30 indicators for the 32 countries and a change table 2003-2004 are found in the 2004 update of the summary report in the 2004 State of Play archive.

2005
A similar update exercise has been performed in 2005. Impact from INSPIRE becomes gradually more visible in the activities of (new) co-ordinating bodies in the Member States. Ongoing legislative initiatives get amended, and stakeholders are mobilised to prepare for the implementation of INSPIRE. More details can be found in the 2005 update summary report and country reports. Feedback is most welcome.
